New Tours-Summer 2011

I. “Café Crawl” Fridays – 5:00 PM (ends September 9)

History accompanied with a glass of wine or pint of ale? Why not? After a long week, it is time to let the hair down and join us for Happy Hour along the Chicago River on our new “Café Crawl” beginning June 24th! As we often suggest to our guests, “history seems a lot more fun with a glass of wine or a pint of ale!” Guests enjoy all the benefits and features of our signature history & architectural tour along with 2-3 stops at River Walk Cafes for self-paid beverages of their choice! Our Beverage stops include “Food For Thought’s RiverWalk Cafe and Bar” and “Cyranos Cafe & Wine Bar on the River Walk” and one other stop along the way! Duration: 2.5 hours

II. “Chicago Night Lights Tour” Thursdays – 7:30 PM (ends September 1)

Many say that America’s sunsets should only be witnessed in Key West, the Rockies or perhaps a beach in Southern California. Unfortunately for these folks, they have not witnessed a sunset along the Chicago River! As the suns sets upon the city’s inimitable skyline, it casts its candescent hues upon the magnificent glass towers surrounding the River. While guests absorb the fun facts and stories of Chicago’s Finest River Walk Tour’s signature history & architecture tour, they witness a dramatic transformation! As Nature’s show slowly fades into dusk, the lights come on and transform these towering monuments of glistening glass and steel to lighted beacons paving the way through a mystical watery corridor! Tours begin June 2. Duration: 2 hours

III. “Brunch Tours” Saturdays & Sundays – Noon (ends September 11)

 

Are you interested in some great history, architecture and popular culture? Are you interested in all of this and brunch as well? If you are, please join us on our new weekend “Brunch” Tours” that begin June 25th on Saturdays and Sundays at noon. All brunch orders are self-paid by our guests. During the meal, guests and their guide continue their discussion of Chicago’s jubilant past, colorful historical characters, fascinating anecdotes and pop culture trivia. Guests not interested in lunch but perhaps simply desire a self-paid beverage stop, are all welcome to join the fun on these tours! Duration: 3 hours

IV. Foreign Speaking Tours Upon request (2 weeks notice)

Also beginning June 1st, we will be offering private tours for our Spanish and Chinese speaking guests. We have contracted with a local agency that provides us foreign translators and interpreters that are made available exclusively to Chicago’s Finest River Walk Tour! In addition, we now have web pages designated specifically for our Chinese and Spanish speaking friends! For those interested in these special tours, a 2 week notice is appreciated. Duration: 2.5 hours

V. Pet-Friendly Tours Tuesdays – 3:00 PM (ends August 30)

Are you are looking to expand Fido’s or Fluffy’s historical perspective? If yes, please feel free to take him or her along on our new Pet-Friendly tours beginning also in June. Dog Treats and water are amply available for our furry new friends while they “master” our signature history & architectural tour! A 2 day notice is appreciated but not required and we will do our best to couple similar dog lovers on the same tours. Tours begin every Tuesday at 3:00 pm beginning June 7th. Duration: 2 hours
